Area and activities
There is so much to do in and around Comrie that even the most active of holiday maker will only ever be able to do a fraction of activities and pastimes which the area has to offer.
Ideally situated for Stirling, Perth, Pitlochry, Callender and Aberfeldy, Comrie is at the heart of the Southern Highlands and
only an hour or so's drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
For those who prefer to stay closer to home, the town and the surrounding countryside boast a wide range of amenities and outdoor
activities including:
- Sailing and watersports on Loch Earn,
- Golf, not only at Comrie's own 9 hole club but also at St. Fillans, Muthill and Crieff,
- Walking and climbing - Comrie is surrounded by beautiful walks with varying degrees of difficulty - from a short stroll up to
the Deil's cauldron to a more energetic climb up one of the three nearest Munros - Ben Chonzie, Ben Vorlich or Ben Lawers,
- Fishing - on Loch Earn or in the River Earn itself (subject to permit)
Cycling -
Comrie has a small network of dedicated mountain biking paths
Visiting historic sites - including Banockburn, Doune Castle, Huntingtower Castle, St Serf's Church and Castle Menzies, and
Visiting some of the local tourist attractions including the Famous Grouse or Tullibardine Distileriesor Drummond Castle Gardens.
